Nominations invited for Journalism Awards

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Information and Public Relations has constituted a Selection Committee for TSR Memorial Journalism Award and Mohare Hanamantharaya Journalism Award for the years 2019 to 2023 and has invited nominations for the Awards.

Selection Committee, chaired by retd. High Court Judge P.N. Desai, has senior journalists Dr. Eshwar Daithota, Shanthala Dharmaraj and M.S. Mani as members. Department of Information and Public Relations Commissioner is the Member-Secretary.

TSR Award, given in memory of Senior Kannada Journalist T.S. Ramachandra Rao, carries a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh and is given to a journalist who has served minimum of 30 years in Kannada journalism, print or electronic media. Those who have contributed to the growth of Kannada language will be considered for the award. One awardee will be selected for each calendar year.

Mohare Hanamantharaya Award, also carrying a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh, is given to a journalist who has contributed to Kannada Journalism by establishing a newspaper company or newspaper group and has worked for minimum 30 years as a owner or administrator.

Nominations can be sent by media houses, associations and individuals with full personal details along with relevant documents to the Commissioner, Department of Information and Public Relations, Vartha Soudha, No. 17, Bhagwan Mahaveer Road, Bengaluru-560001 before July 25 by 5.30 pm or through District Information Officer or via e-mail: tsraward@gmail.com
