Mysuru: Former Mayor B.L. Bhyrappa has expressed his displeasure over the negligence of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) for not issuing khata for sites and houses handed over to MCC by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) which has terribly inconvenienced such property owners.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakatara Bhavan here recently, Bhyrappa expressed happiness over MCC’s decision to approve construction plans online. However he bemoaned that owners of sites transferred from MUDA to MCC cannot use the online facility owing to non-issuance of khata.
Continuing, Bhyrappa said that such property owners have continued to visit MUDA for obtaining khata or pay tax. The problem is predominant in VIjayanagar 3rd stage and other areas. People who have obtained houses under Ashraya and Ambedkar Housing Schemes and children who have inherited property through parents too are facing problem to get khata from MCC. Without khata, selling the property is also not possible.
The officials concerned should solve the issue before the property owners launch a strong protest, warned Bhyrappa.
Former Mayor Purushotham was present at the press meet.
