Mysuru: A 20-member team from five Corporations in North India’s three States’ visited Mysuru City Corporation recently to study how the City had bagged the ‘Cleanest City’ award twice and was placed fifth.
In the three States of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal located on the banks of River Ganga, there are 10 Corporations.
Out of this, the team consisted of one Mayor, five Corporators, Corporation Engineers and other officials who were on the tour. The Swachh Bharat Mission, Rural Development and National Ganga Cleaning Mission that comes under the Urban Development Ministry in Delhi had organised the study tour to Mysuru.
The team consisted of Katiyar Corporation Mayor Vijay Singh, officials Raj, Vishal and others.
Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, Corporation Commissioner G. Jagadeesha and Corporators welcomed the team. Later, they visited the Sewage Farm to study the waste collection, disposal and other information.
The team expressed happiness at the way the waste was being utilised.
