A novel initiative of providing drinking water and food grains to birds was launched in the city yesterday.
Realising that the scorching heat will kill the birds, the volunteers of Mysuru Prajnavantha Nagarikara Vedike fixed small containers to trees and placed food grains and water for the birds to eat and quench their thirst.
The initiative was launched on the Chamaraja Double Road.
Launching the initiative, City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath lamented that these days, youth spend a lot of money on unwanted things. Instead, they can contribute to such initiatives and can spread the message of co-existence. He appreciated the efforts of Kadakola Jagadish of Prajnavantha Nagarikara Vedike for launching such an initiative.
BJP Slum Morcha Organising Secretary R. Raghu Kautilya, KMPK Trust President Vikram Iyengar and others were present.
