Now, 24-hour vehicle check to curb cattle smuggling

Mysuru: In a bid to prevent illegal transportation or smuggling of cattle, city Police are keeping a hawk eye vigil and have commenced a special checking drive in city. The Cops are undertaking 24 hours checking of vehicles especially goods vehicles in city.

Since a few days, illegal transportation of cattle is being reported from various places across the State and hence as a precautionary step, the Police are conducting checking of vehicles since the past three days. The special checking drive is being conducted by the staff of all Police Stations across the city in their respective jurisdictions.

DCP (Law and Order) M. Muthuraju, speaking to Star of Mysore said that extreme caution has been to prevent cattle smuggling in city. Check- posts have been erected at 12 places across                                                       the city and the locations of these check-posts will be  changed daily.

“Checking of vehicles will be conducted round the clock by Police personnel, who will be working in three shifts till June 8,” the DCP said.
