Sir,
At last the deadly steep curve on Hunsur Road near Jaladarshini Guest House, which was prone to frequent accidents, was made available for public use after bringing some engineering changes like road widening followed by introducing some revised road design parameters aimed at increased safety of vehicle riders.
At the same time, the environmentalists’ plea to save the existing trees was also considered while widening this road.
However, it is very unfortunate to note that the road design engineers have completely ignored the safety of the pedestrians on this stretch and rather focused mainly on safety of vehicle riders. Here, the pedestrians will hardly have any space to walk.
Hence, I request the authorities concerned to re-look on this road design and find a way to provide some safe and reasonably wide walking path for pedestrians, fenced with barricade, all along the Hunsur road, at least up to city limits.
Otherwise, this road will turn into an accident spot for pedestrians once again, if not for motorists, in future.
