Mysuru: With vehicle accidents on Highways on the rise, the Mysuru City Police have provided a Highway patrol vehicle to NR Traffic Police Station.
The vehicle will be used for rushing accident victims to hospitals and to come to the rescue of women in emergencies.
The vehicle is fitted with a camera, a speed reader and a revolving light and will have a stretcher to carry injured persons and a fully equipped First-Aid box.
An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police and two Police personnel, apart from the driver are attached to this vehicle, whose job also include keeping an eye on suspicious movement of vehicles and to alert the Police Control Room on Highway crimes such as robbery and dacoity.
The members of the public can utilise the services of this patrol vehicle in times of emergencies by calling toll free number 112, according to NR Traffic Police Inspector Divakar Gowda.
