Mysuru: Nruthya Samarpana-2018, the decennial celebrations of Sri Uma Maheshwara Nruthya Kalakshetra Trust has been organised at Kalamandira here on Jan.7.
Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, will inaugurate the programme at 4 pm. Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy, Founder-Director, VPAC, Mysuru, will preside. H. Channappa, Assistant Director, Department of Kannada and Culture, Mysuru and Dr. S.P. Umadevi, HoD of Kannada Department, JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram, will be the chief guests.
On the occasion, ‘Somasree Award’ will be conferred on Vidu. Kripa Phadke, Founder-Director of Nruthyagiri, Mysuru and Mridanga Vidwan Hanumantharaju, Director of Saraswathi Gaanakala Shala, Mysuru.
Also, in honour and homage to the Founder-Patron of the Kalakshetra, Karnataka Kalasree, Natyacharya late T.N. Somashekar, ‘Guru Vandana,’ a Bharathanatya dance feature will be presented by the senior disciples of the Institution — Vid.Srinivas, Vidu. S. Nethra, Vidu. M. Roopa, Vidu. K. Sharika, Vidu. Pavana Shree, Vidu. K. Divya, Vidu. K. Deeksha, Keerthi and others.
‘Shiva Thathva Natya Vaibhavam,’ a dance ballet will be presented as part of the decennial celebrations by the disciples of Guru Vidu. Sreelakshmi Kumar, Director of the Kalakshetra.
