Mysuru: A Zilla Panchayat (ZP) official was trapped by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000 from a school Head Master for issuing an inspection report.
Vasanthkumar, a ZP official of mid-day meal scheme, is the one who was trapped.
Vasanthkumar had demanded a bribe of Rs.25,000 from Sagaya Raj, HM of St. Mary’s School in H.D. Kote, for issuing a report concerning mid-day meal scheme at the school. But after negotiations, Vasanthkumar settled for Rs.15,000 bribe.
As agreed, Vasanthkumar asked Sagaya Raj to come near the City Railway Station on Friday morning, when the waiting ACB sleuths caught Vasanthkumar red-handed while accepting Rs.15,000 from Sagaya Raj.
