Sir,
As always, enjoyed Dr. Nayeem’s column immensely on July 30. Entertaining and informative indeed. His Rice Bhagya’s saga reminded me of Maharashtra Government’s slum rehabilitation scheme, wherein most of the beneficiaries simply sold their allotted tenements and moved over to new slums.
I want to point out that the doctor’s observation stating political rivalry caused the shortage of needed quantity is wrong. Our Government had approached all their political affiliates like Punjab, Rajasthan Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, but to no avail.
His next take on specially- abled people was touching and I was reminded of one such employee with Reliance Smart Point right on the link road in JP Nagar, Mysuru. Customer’s attitude changes instantly from demanding to cooperation as soon as they realise that the employee is specially-abled. Humanity is still alive!
