Onam get-together by Railway Malayali Samithi

Mysuru: Railway Malayali Samithi, Mysuru, is a socio-cultural organisation of the Railway men hailing from Kerala and working in Mysuru.

Railway Malayali Samithi’s 28th annual Onam get-together was conducted at Railway Chamundi Officers Club in Yadavagiri recently.

Dr. K.R. Anilkumar, Joint Director/Scientist-F, HoD, Food Quality Assurance Division, DFRL, Mysuru, was the chief guest.  

Samithi President K. P. Narayana Poduval presided. B. Sasikumaran Nair welcomed. Secretary K.L. Vinod Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.

A traditional Kerala feast was served before inauguration. Sports, Pookalam, drawing, painting and quiz competitions were conducted as part of the celebrations. Winners were presented with prizes.

Students who got highest marks in tenth standard and PUC were presented with cash award. Railway employees who got meritorious award from General Manager, South Western Railway and an employee who retired from service were also felicitated.

Variety of cultural programmes were presented by members and their family, according to a press release from Samithi Vice-President V.R. Harikrishnan.
