One arrested for attempting to sell narcotic substance near school

Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested a man when he was attempting to sell narcotic substance near a school in city and have seized 35 grams of MDMA and other narcotic substance worth over Rs. 1 lakh from him.

On Oct. 17, the CCB Police received information about a man attempting to sell narcotic substances at the gomala land in Vijayanagar Police limits and raided the place, besides arresting the accused and seizing the narcotic substances. A case has been registered at Vijayanagar Police Station.

It is shocking to know that drug peddlers are attempting to sell narcotic substances near the school and trying to lure college students and hostel inmates in the surrounding, thus expanding their area of operation.

The Police have asked the parents, managements of schools, colleges and hostels to keep a watch over their             children and students.

The Police have urged them to inform them immediately if they find any strangers or suspicious persons near educational institutions trying to lure and sell suspicious items to students so  that the Police could try to prevent students from falling prey to drugs and also to bring the drug peddlers                           to book.
