Mysore/Mysuru: A man who had allegedly stolen two gold chains in the guise of a customer at a jewellery shop in the city, has been arrested by Lashkar Police. Two gold chains weighing 40 grams worth Rs. 2 lakh are recovered from him.
On Aug. 7, the accused had been to Sri Hari Jewellers on Ashoka Road here and had made away with the valuables. Following a complaint, Lashkar Police had formed a team to crack the case. On Aug. 17, the accused was nabbed in Holenarasipur in Hassan district and the stolen articles were recovered from him.
During further investigation, it came to know that, the accused is a habitual offender with theft cases registered against him at Konanur, Hassan Town and Channarayapatna Police Stations.
The case was cracked by a Police team led by ACP (Devaraja Sub-Division) Shanthamallappa, including Lashkar Station Inspector K.R. Prasad, PSI Chandrashekar Maganageri and staff Lokesh, Chetan, Chinnappa M. Kalloli, Manjunath, Lalesab Nadaf and Manjunath Gadagaigola and P. Kumar of Call Details Record (CDR) wing.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi supervised the investigation. City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh has congratulated the Police team for cracking the case.
