Mysuru – The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru, had organised a one-day workshop on “Internet of Things” (IOT) at its premises recently.
The inaugural function was attended by Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda, Principal, VVCE, Sharath P. Patil, Co-founder, RevEngg, Bengaluru and Dr. A. B. Rajendra, CSE, VVCE, Mysuru.
This programme was coordinated by Prof. M. Hamsaveni and Prof. P. Vijay Kumar. Sharath P. Patil, Rajath and Sumukh were the resource persons.
In the morning session of the workshop a brief introduction about IOT, its applications and current trends was given to the students. In the next session, students were able to develop basic mobile application using the MIT appinventor, which is an online emulator for developing android applications.
The final session was a hands-on session, where they provided basic Arduino tool kits using which students executed simple programmes.
