Mysuru: One person was killed while another suffered injuries when the goods auto in which they were returning after supplying chicken and mutton to Infosys, toppled after hitting the road divider near Hebbal Ring Road here yesterday afternoon. While the deceased has been identified as Sharath (27), an employee of a Chicken Centre in Boti Bazar and a resident of Udayagiri, the injured has been identified as Kempanayaka, the driver of the goods auto and a resident of Basavanapura in Chamarajanagar.
The duo, yesterday morning, loaded chicken and mutton from the Chicken Centre in Boti Bazar and left for Infosys canteen. After unloading the supplies, the driver of the goods auto is said to have drove the auto at high speed on the slope resulting in him losing control of the auto which rammed into the road divider and toppled.
Sharath, who suffered serious head injuries died on the spot, while Kempanayaka, who was caught under the auto, was pulled out by the public and later admitted to K.R. Hospital.
V.V. Puram Traffic Inspector Vivekananda, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, seized the goods auto, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary.
A case has been registered at V.V. Puram Traffic Police Station in this regard.
