Kushalnagar: A man was killed on the spot while six others sustained injuries, when a swarm of bees attacked and stung them at Hale Madalapura Tribal Hamlet near Yalaknur Hosahalli on Wednesday evening. The villagers had gone to the place to attend the last rites of a person when the bees attacked them.
The deceased has been identified as Govinda (48) of Hale Madalapura.
One Kumar of Hale Madalapura Tribal Hamlet had died on Tuesday and his last rites were being performed on Wednesday evening. The residents of the hamlet had gone to attend the ceremony during which the bees attacked them suddenly, killing Govinda and injuring Muttappa, Parvathi, Annaiah Paranni, Gowramma and others.
The injured have been admitted to Kushalnagar Community Health Centre. Meanwhile, Tribal Organisation’s Rakshana Vedike President J.K. Mutha has demanded the District Administration to provide compensation to the family members of the deceased besides demanding necessary treatment to the injured.
