Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a bike rider was killed, while the pillion rider and the rider of another bike suffered serious injuries, when their bikes collided against each other near Kampalapura in Periyapatna taluk yesterday.
While the deceased has been identified as Ashok, a resident of Sundawalu village in the taluk, the injured have been identified as the wife of the deceased and the rider of another bike.
Ashok, along with his wife who were proceeding from Hunsur towards Sundawalu village, took a right turn near Kampalapura to go to a society, when an Apache bike rammed into their bike from behind. Ashok, who suffered serious injuries was being shifted to a hospital, where he breathed his last midway. His wife, who also suffered serious injuries was provided first-aid at the Periyapatna Government Hospital and was shifted to Apollo BGS Hospital in Mysuru for further treatment.
The rider of the Apache bike, who too suffered serious injuries has been admitted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru.
Periyapatna Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
