Mysuru: Member of Royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar yesterday said that Andhra Pradesh-based Gayathri Seva Trust has come forward to exhibit one lakh dolls under a single roof at Jaganmohan Palace premises during Dasara-2018.
Speaking to reporters here, she said that the Trust has already collected one lakh traditional dolls from various parts of the country. Traditional dolls of Mysore, other Royal Kingdoms, and States will be on show. This will be one of the major Dasara attractions this year, she added.
Pramoda Devi said that it’s for the first time dolls are being exhibited in such a large scale under the banner of Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery Trust, which is always keen on promoting art and culture associated with the land.
The custom and tradition associated with arrangement of dolls will always enrich Navaratri celebrations. The dolls will be exhibited on different themes including that of Mysore Dasara, Ramayana, Mahabharata to name a few.
She further said that the dolls are collected by an individual who later formed the Trust and has taken the same to various places for exhibition. Gayatri Seva Trust will fix the entry ticket price to the Dolls Show.
