Mysore/Mysuru: Dasara Aahara Mela Traders Association has thanked the authorities concerned for cancelling online bidding / tender for Food Mela to be held from Oct. 15 to 22 at Scouts and Guides Grounds, behind Old DC’s Office in city.
Addressing media persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan in city this morning, Association President Nagaraj thanked the Chief Minister, District Minister, City Police Commissioner, MUDA Commissioner and Dasara Food Mela Sub-Committee for calling off the online tender. However, Nagaraj urged the authorities to extend the schedule of the Food Mela by two days up to Oct. 24 (including Ayudha Puja and Jamboo Savari day too), as it has been already announced in the media that the event will be held from Oct. 15 to 22.
The other demands include allocation of Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 40 lakh to Dasara Food Mela Sub-Committee and restrict the amount of Demand Draft to be paid by those who take stalls on rent to Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000, distribution of ID cards to all the stall owners.
“We have already met the Chief Minister in Bengaluru and submitted a memorandum in this regard,” said Nagaraj.
