Online booking of entry tickets to Daria Daulat posing problems

Sir,

I recently visited Daria Daulat Bagh along with my family on a trip to Srirangapatna. We were surprised to find that the offline ticket counter was closed permanently and that we were required to book entry tickets online. This posed a major problem for many of the tourists there, particularly senior citizens and foreign nationals, as they were unfamiliar with the process and some did not even have access to the necessary technology.

This new system has raised several challenges that should be addressed. Many people do not own smartphones or have reliable internet connections, making it difficult for them to book tickets. Additionally, the lengthy process can be time-consuming and leaves room for exploitation by unscrupulous individuals. The internet connectivity in the area is also poor, which can lead to failed payments. Furthermore, the Tourism Department may be losing out on revenue.

While it is important to embrace digital payment modes, it is also necessary to consider the potential implications of this transition. I would like to suggest two potential solutions to ensure that the transition is successful:

1. Offer both digital and cash payment options to accommodate those who require cash payments.

2. Inform the public of the transition through mass media and take their feedback into account before implementing major changes.

I hope that the authorities concerned will consider these suggestions and work to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
