Bengaluru: Days after it had declared that all I PU students would be promoted without exam due to COVID pandemic, the Government in a sudden U-turn on Friday, said that I PU students will be evaluated through an online exam.
The Department of Pre-university Education said that there is a need for admitting students to II PUC and to extend student scholarships, based on the marks secured in the final exam. As such, the Department has now decided to conduct I PU exams through online mode this year.
The Department, in a circular issued yesterday, said that the online exam will have two question papers, with each question paper covering three subjects. The exam papers have been uploaded in the Department website, the link of which has been sent to the registered mobile number of students.
The students are asked to answer the first question paper by June 20 and the second one between June 26 and July 5 and scan the answers, which they are required to write on their own blank white sheets. The scanned answer scripts must be sent to their college either through WhatsApp, e-mail or Post. The circular further said that each of the two question papers will have questions for 30 marks in every subject, totalling 90 marks. Lecturers of concerned subject are required to evaluate the scanned answer scripts of the first question paper between June 20 – 25 and the second one between July 6 – 10.
After adding the Internal Assessment marks secured by the students, the results will be uploaded using SATS (Student Achievement Tracking System) software.
