Online Registration software Kaveri 2.0 has problems

Sir,

The Department of Stamps and Registration’s online application software, Kaveri 2.0, is technically inferior. Instead of saving time, it wastes time and tests the patience of the common people.

I applied for a certified copy of a sale deed on 19.7.2024, and as of 30.7.2024, the status still shows as “allocated to FDA/SDA from SRO for verification.” Previously, when applied for manually, it would take 2 to 3 days. Even now, it can be done in 2 days if we go to the Sub-Registrar’s Office and meet the person concerned.

This demonstrates the apathy of the officials in providing service to the people, even though the computer software should expedite the process. The staff holds it back unnecessarily to extract an ‘extra service fee.’

I hope Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda looks into this issue and puts an end to this ‘open delay system.’
