Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a Veena concert by Vidwan Balu Masthi on Dec. 25 at 6 pm. He will be accompanied by Vidwan Sunil Subrahmanya on mridanga. The programme is not a public performance but will only be live on both Ganabharathi Facebook page and Youtube.
Profile: Balu Masthi is a performing Karnatak Veena artiste who has been learning and playing Veena for many years from a young age. He was a youth artiste in All India Radio during his childhood and is a graded AIR Veena artiste now. He learnt Veena from late Vid. A.V. Prakash for many years. He also had an opportunity to learn Veena from Vidu. Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh.
Born in 1986 near Sringeri, Sunil Subramanya was drawn to the art of percussion as a child. He hails from a family with deep roots in music, particularly in the Bhajana Sampradaya. He started his initial training at the age of 10 under his father Subramanya and Sringeri Ramachandra Rao. At the age of 15 he came under the tutelage of mridanga Maestro Vidwan Bangalore Arjun Kumar. Sunil is an ‘A’ graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan.
