Mysore/Mysuru: Under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programme, the District Authorities launched a door-to-door voter enrolment drive across the district on Saturday and Sunday last. The drive was held ahead of the publication of the revised voter list on Jan. 5, 2024.
During the drive, as many as 4,080 newly eligible voters were enrolled on Dec. 2 and 4,516 on Dec. 3. A similar drive held last month (November) across the district, saw a voter enrolment of 3,914 on Nov.18 and 4,095 on Nov.19.
Now, with the physical voter enrolment drive having concluded yesterday, the authorities have facilitated online enrolment of new voters who attain the age of 18 years as on Jan.1, 2024. The online enrolment will go on till Dec.9 and today, the authorities visited several educational institutions under the SVEEP programme and facilitated online enrolment of eligible college students. After collating all data regarding voter enrolment, the District Administration will publish the revised electoral rolls on Jan.5, 2024 , with the Lok Sabha polls just a few months away.
