Mysore/Mysuru: While only 1,200 people will be accommodated atop Chamundi Hill for the Dasara inauguration stage programme tomorrow, the District Administration has already banned the entry of people from early morning till 11.30 am during the time of President’s visit.
Though the President’s Office has said that over 1,200 people can participate in the stage programme, it is not clear how the District Administration plans to gather 1,200 people as public entry to the Chamundi Temple is banned till 11.30 am.
The 1,200 visitors will be mostly the followers of the VVIPs, Ministers, MLAs and the MP. Over five metres from the stage has been declared a restricted area and the media has been asked to take photos from a distance with high-resolution cameras and larger lenses. Even the media will not be allowed a photo opportunity in front of the stage.
The President’s Office has stipulated that only 13 persons will be allowed on the stage with the President and they include Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, Shobha Karandlaje, District Minister S.T. Somashekar, Kannada and Culture Minister Sunil Kumar, Tourism Minister Anand Singh.
Other dignitaries who will be present on the occasion will be Mayor Shivakumar, MP Pratap Simha and MLA G.T. Devegowda. A final communique is awaited from the President’s Office on who will be present on the stage along with the President.
