Mysore/Mysuru: Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET), will be organising an Open House at its campus near Hebbal Industrial area to showcase its achievements, facilities and the courses available from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15.
The three-day Open House will be held from 10 am to 7 pm. During the three-day event, visitors will also be educated about the hazardous effects of plastic.
Addressing a press meet held yesterday, CIPET Mysuru Director R.T. Nagaralli said that students, parents, industries and the public can make use of this opportunity. “Established in 1991, CIPET Mysuru has been serving the plastics and allied industries in and around Karnataka. The Centre runs both academic and industry programmes for the benefit of students and industries. Those who have successfully completed courses here are now working in various companies, both in India and abroad. Some students have also started their own industries and businesses under the ‘Make in India’ project. The Institute also offers courses in the area of plastics processing, testing, reuse as well as plastic mould design and manufacturing.”
“Most of the Mysureans are not aware of CIPET Mysuru. The aim of this Open House is to enlighten the public about what we do here and the students about the courses offered here,” he said. CIPET Training Division Head N. Ramesh Babu and others were present.
Admissions Open
“CIPET, Mysuru offers various Graduate courses as well as Post Graduate courses including Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (DPMT), a 3-year course, Diploma in Plastics Technology (DPT), 3-year course and Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing (PGD-PPT), 2-year course. Admissions are open now for the above courses,” R.T. Nagaralli said.
Students who have passed SSLC and PUC are eligible to apply for the courses. Last date for applying is May 22. CIPET-JEE Exam will be held on May 31. Classes will begin from July 1.
