Mysore/Mysuru: A manhole in the middle of Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road at the intersection of KSRTC Sub-Urban Bus Stand and Halladakeri Road in the city remains open without covering the top with a lid. The manhole invites danger and the general public want it to be repaired before any mishap.
It has been three to four days since the manhole is open on the road from Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle (formerly Hardinge Circle) towards KSRTC Bus Stand. Several number of buses and other types of vehicles move on this stretch of road, that sparks danger with a manhole remaining unattended, that has drawn a flak from the public.
There are instances of two- wheelers skidding as riders try to avoid the manhole. As five to six such freak mishaps occurred, with riders suffering minor injuries, the locals kept stones near the manhole to alert other vehicle riders. But, the possibilities of vehicles riding over the manhole in the night cannot be ignored. It would be better if the authorities cover the manhole with a lid at the earliest.
