Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS), Dalit Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) and other organisations together have organised an Open Meet on ‘Demonetisation’ at Maharaja College Centenary Hall in city on Feb.24 at 10.30 am.
Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, KRRS General Secretary Badagalapura Nagendra said that the Open Meet would focus on the pros and cons of demonetisation. He pointed out that the sudden decision of demonetisation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 denomination notes by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Nov. 8 last, sent shockwaves across the country driving the common people into severe inconvenience which had not eased totally till now.
Continuing, Nagendra said that an open invitation had been extended to MP Pratap Simha and other BJP leaders to answer queries from participants on the effect of demonetisations and details of black money collected in that context. He added that Economist Arun Kumar, MLA K.S. Puttannaiah, farmers, bank officers, entrepreneurs, street vendors and others would participate in the Open Meet.
DSS District Convenor Shivakumar was present at the press meet.
