Mysuru: Following several complaints from the public that autorickshaw drivers were refusing to come to their preferred destination and demanding excess fare, Traffic Police personnel of various Traffic Police Stations in city, conducted ‘Operation Decoy’ and have booked 25 auto drivers for the offence, imposed fines and have recommended the RTO to suspend their DLs.
Conducting ‘Operation Decoy’ at their respective jurisdiction under the supervision of DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe, N.R. Traffic In-charge Inspector R.P. Ashok, V.V. Puram Traffic Inspector C.V. Ravi and Inspectors of other Traffic Police Stations in city and staff, disguised as commuters, booked 25 auto drivers for refusing to come to their destinations and demanding excess fare.
City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao has stated that ‘Operation Decoy’ against erring auto drivers would continue and urged them not to fleece the customers besides asking them to drop the customers at their preferred destinations failing which legal action would be initiated.
