Ophthalmologists visit The Gambia for Surgeries

Mysuru: Dr. K.R. Vasantha Kumar, Professor at Adichunchanagiri Medical College, Mandya and Dr. Ravishankar, Senior Eye Surgeon, Usha Kiran Eye Hospital, Mysuru, have left India on Arp.5 to The Gambia, a small West African country.

They are visiting on an invitation from the Government of The Gambia and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) community of the country. They will be performing around 75 free Paediatric eye surgeries there. During their previous visit in  2017, they have performed over 50 surgeries and conducted many other health related events in The Gambia.

Dr. Vasantha Kumar will also deliver a lecture on “Intra Operative Complications and its Management during Anaesthesia” to the local Anaesthetists and “Simple tips for healthy living” to the NRIs of The Gambia.
