Mysuru: A project to convert wet waste generated at temples to organic manure was launched by ex-serviceman K.K. Subbaiah at Balamuri Ganapati Temple in Srirampura 2nd Stage here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Temple Management Committee Member Sudheendra Acharya said that wet waste of temples are usually disposed at the foot of Chamundi Hill in the forest region which spoils the environment. He further said that the Temple has initiated to collect the waste in plastic drums, process to organic manure and use it for gardens and plants by the road side.
Subbaiah added that cleanliness should be given top priority in Temples which would create an awareness among the people visiting temples.
