Mysuru: A UGC sponsored one-day orientation programme on ‘Quality of Higher Education, Importance of Research and ICT-enabled Teaching’ was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Mysuru, recently.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. P. Venkataramaiah, former VC, Kuvempu University.
He opined, “Various changes have taken place in the world and hence education should also abide with it. In this concern, the curricula in higher education should also go hand-in-hand with the changes. This will ensure the production of quality students to the society.”
He suggested teachers to read the books authored by eminent persons so that they educate students in this line to become good citizens of the country.
Shankarappa, Director, General Administration, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, presided.
Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, welcomed. Prof. M. Mahadevappa, Principal, proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. B.K. Kendagannaswamy, IQAC Coordinator, was also present.
In the day-long event, three technical sessions were held — Prof. P. Venkataramaiah highlighted on maintaining high quality in higher education; Prof. B.S. Vishwanath spoke on significance of research and Dr. P.K. Mukand Raj addressed on ICT-enabled teaching.
