Mysuru: Following many complaints on the menace of stray cattle in city, the MCC has warned the cattle owners against letting free their cattle to roam about on roads and public places.
The menace is all the more prevalent in areas such as Mahadevapura Main Road, Shivaji Park, Triveni Circle, RMC yard, Vidyaranyapuram, Nazarbad, Kurubarahalli Circle, Bamboo Bazaar, Kurubageri, Lashkar Mohalla, Mandi Mohalla, Sunnadakeri, Agrahara, Ittigegud, Devaraja Market etc.,
The MCC has warned that owners of stray cattle will be fined of Rs.500 for the first time and if caught for the second time, the cattle will be handed over to the custody of Pinjarapole Society and such cattle will not be returned to the owners, according to a release.
The release further said that a new cow shelter has been built at Sewage Farm in Vidyaranyapuram and the stray cattle caught from now on will be sheltered at this new facility.
