Chamarajanagar: Chamarajanagar District Congress President P. Mariswamy, took charge as the Chairman of Command Area Development Authority (CADA), at its Office in Mysuru, on Monday.
Speaking after assuming office, Mariswamy said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and DCM D.K. Shivakumar have appointed him as CADA Chairman recognising his services to the party.
“I am thankful to District Ministers of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar, all MLAs and party leaders for recommending my name. I will make sincere efforts to implement various programmes and extend facilities for the farmers of CADA catchment area. Apart from developing ponds, lakes, canals and connecting roads in the district, priority will be given to reach pro-people programmes of the Government to beneficiaries,” said Mariswamy.
MLAs A.R. Krishnamurthy, H.M. Ganesh Prasad and Darshan Dhruvanarayan, MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah, former MLAs S. Jayanna, R. Narendra, Kalale Keshavamurthy and G.N. Nanjundaswamy, former MP M. Shivanna, Guarantees Implementation Committee Vice-Chairperson Dr. Pushpa Amarnath, Mysuru City Congress President R. Murthy, Chamarajanagar District Congress VP B.K. Ravikumar and KPCC Secretary H.C. Basavaraju were present.
