Padmapriya to represent country  in ATF 12 & U Team Competition

Mysuru: City’s budding tennis player Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar has been selected to represent the Indian Tennis Team at ‘ATF 12 and U Team Competition 2024’ organised by Asian Tennis Federation at National Training Centre, Beelie Arena, Shymkent, Kazakhstan from Sept. 16 to Sept. 21. Padmapriya is currently placed No. 3 and No. 26 respectively in the U-12 and U-14 categories in the All India Tennis Association (AITA) rankings. She is also ranked 86th in the U-14 Asian rankings.

In the recently held tournaments, Padmapriya won both U-14 singles and doubles events in the Asian Juniors Tennis Tournament 2024 held at AATA Complex, Guwahati, Assam; singles and doubles events in the National Series U-12 Tennis Tournament 2024 held at Sania Mirza Tennis Academy, Hyderabad among others.

A student of Excel Public School in Koorgalli, Mysuru, Padmapriya practices at Raghuveer Tennis Academy at Maharaja’s College premises.

She is the daughter of Dr. Malathi Priya, Conservator of Forests, Mysuru Circle and Dr. P. Ramesh Kumar, Conservator of Forests (Project Tiger).
