Mysore/Mysuru: G.R. Rajesh Nayak of Mysuru has been selected for the prestigious Pandit Puttaraj Gawai National Award.
Rajesh, who is well-versed in social networking, has organised over 5,000 social awareness programmes while serving in many organisations. He has also played the role of Sri Ramanuja in the dance-drama Sri Ramanuja Dhanur Dasa Vybhavam presented by city-based Bhushan’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, which was streamed live in over 170 countries through Andhra Pradesh’s TTD (Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams) Channel. This apart, Rajesh has also worked for empowerment of women.
Rajesh will be conferred the award at a programme organised by New Delhi’s Pandit Puttaraj Gawai Seva Samithi marking the birth anniversary of Puttaraj Gawai at New Delhi on Mar. 6, according to Samithi Director Dr. Manohar Patil.
Rajesh has also won many awards and prizes including Basava Ratna National Award, National Yuva Ratna Award, Seva Bhushana State Award, Hemmeya Kannadiga State Award, Vishwamanava Award and Kannada Vikasa Ratna Award, among others.
