Mysuru: The long- awaited four-day Parangathotsava-2017, 31st edition of Veterans Classical Music and Dance Festival of National stature under the aegis of Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre (VPAC) Trust, Mysuru, will be inaugurated by renowned Sarod Maestro Pt. Rajeev Taranath at K. Vasudevacharya Bhavana of Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, JLB Road, on Dec.15 at 6 pm.
Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam will be the chief guest. Industrialist and VPAC Trust President K.V. Murthy will preside.
On Dec.15, Pt. Praveen Godkhindi will be felicitated and followed by his flute recital.
On Dec.16, Rudrapatnam Brothers — Vid. R.N. Tharanathan and Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan — will be felicitated by K.V. Murthy and followed by their Karnatak Vocal recital. Ganabharathi President Dr. C.G. Narasimhan will be the chief guest.
On Dec.17, Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy will present solo Bharatanatyam in Vasundhara Bani. Managing Partner of Ganesh Beedi Works-Mysuru Dr. Jagannath Shenoy will be the chief guest.
On Dec.18, K. Nandini Mehta and K. Murali Mohan will be felicitated by KSGH Music University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar followed by Kathak Dance by Nandini Mehta and Murali Mohan.
The four-day event, to be held between 6 pm and 9 pm everyday, is by invitation and free for public.
