Parents accuse Education Dept. of rendering injustice to their daughter

Mysore/Mysuru: The parents of a girl student have alleged that their daughter’s SSLC answer sheet was wrongly evaluated by teachers and that the School Education and Literacy Department has rendered injustice to her.

Addressing a press meet here recently, Suma Chandrashekar of Kodagalli village in Bannur Hobli of T. Narasipur taluk said that her daughter K.S. Shravya is facing a lot of difficulties in getting a seat for PUC course in city colleges, despite getting good marks in SSLC.

Pointing out that her daughter Shravya, who studied at Jeevodaya School in Arakere, had scored 545 marks in SSLC when the results were declared, Suma said her daughter applied for revaluation as she was not satisfied with the results as she had performed much better. “My daughter got 606 marks after revaluation, scoring 94 marks in Maths (53 previously) and 95 in Science (75 previously).

As Shravya decided to apply for PUC only after revaluation, she waited eagerly for revaluation result. But as she went to apply for PUC soon after getting the revaluation marks, all the colleges shut their doors for her saying that the admissions had got over. All this is because of the lapses on the part of the evaluators who played havoc with the life of a student”, she said adding that the Education Department should come to the rescue of her daughter and thus render justice to her.

The student Shravya, her father K.N. Srinivas and uncle Rajendra Prasad Honnalagere were present at the press meet.
