Paris: With many of the star athletes failing to achieve a podium finish, India has still hopes on Neeraj Chopra, Mirabai Chanu and Avinash Sable, who are still in the race to win the elusive Gold Medal for the country in the Paris Olympics 2024.
Neeraj Chopra, the defending champion, who won the gold in the men’s javelin throw at Tokyo 2020 Olympics, entered the finals with an astounding throw of 89.34 meters, comfortably surpassing the qualification mark.
Chopra will be competing in the highly anticipated final, scheduled for tomorrow (Aug. 8) at 11.55 pm IST.
Meanwhile, Tokyo 2020 Olympics silver medallist Mirabai Chanu will be seen in action at the South Paris Arena in the women’s 49kg weightlifting event from 11.30 pm tonight (Aug. 7).
Athlete Avinash Sable, Commonwealth Games silver medallist, will eye for an Olympic gold in the men’s 3000 mts steeplechase at Stade de France. Avinash Sable will be seen live in action at 1.13 am on Aug. 8.
