Mysuru: V.V. Puram Police have arrested Srihari Pathak, Managing Director (MD) of the city’s well-known Pathak Developers (P) Ltd., on charges of cheating a flat buyer.
One T.V. Raju, an RMP Employee and a resident of RMP Quarters in city, had booked a flat in Pratham Lakshmi apartment at Hebbal by paying advance.
After construction of the apartment, Srihari Pathak had made a Sale Deed in the name of Raju’s wife K.R. Jannambika. But Srihari Pathak later made another Sale Deed in the name of one Mithun, in respect of the same flat in 2016.
Also, Pathak, after clandestinely making the Sale Deed in the name of Mithun, had mortgaged the flat with Kanyakaparameshwari Co-operative Bank, it is learnt. Following a complaint by T.V. Raju, accusing Pathak Developers MD of cheating him on Flat Registration, V.V. Puram Police booked a case against the MD under Sections 420 and 406 of the IPC.
The Police, acting on the complaint, arrested Srihari Pathak from his farmhouse near KRS early yesterday morning and produced him before the Court, when he was remanded to judicial custody.
