Mysuru: Patrons Day was celebrated at Sri Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wadiyar Sports Club, popularly known as Mysore Sports Club, at its premises here last evening.
Pramoda Devi Wadiyar of the erstwhile royal family inaugurated the celebrations by offering floral tributes to the bust of Sri Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wadiyar at the Lawns of the Club.
She also launched the exhibition organised as part of Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar birth centenary celebrations by Ramsons Kala Prathishtana.
Patrons Day is celebrated in memory of Sri Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wadiyar (born on June 5), the younger brother of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.
Pramoda Devi, speaking on the occasion, said it was befitting that the Patrons Day was being celebrated in memory of her grand father-in-law, who was known for his humane qualities. Mysore Sports Club should continue following the path of its illustrious predecessors.
On the occasion, she was honoured with a memento of the figurine of a galloping horse. Past President of the Club K.G. Ananth Raj Urs and others were present.
