Pawn broker who had cheated customers of crores of rupees nabbed in Rajasthan

Mysuru:  A pawn broker, who had cheated his customers of crores of rupees by allegedly fleeing with gold ornaments and silver articles that were pledged by the customers, has been arrested by Kuvempunagar Police in Rajasthan.

The arrested pawn broker is Nemichand Ram, who was running Maruthi Pawn and Jewellery Shop near Vivekananda Circle in city. A lot of people had pledged their gold jewellery and silver articles and many had invested for monthly lucky dip scheme with him.

Nemichand Ram was conducting business since about eight years, but one fine day, he fled from the city along with his family members and pledged gold and silver. Those who were cheated had lodged complaints with Kuvempunagar Police on Nov. 9 and 19. The Police, who had registered a case, searched Nemichand in Bengaluru and Rajasthan.

The Cops were successful in tracing him and finally arrested him at Jaipur and have brought him to Mysuru for questioning. Kuvempunagar Inspector Arun guided Sub-Inspector Radha, ASI Muraligowda, Constables Manju and Putta in the nabbing operation.
