Mysore/Mysuru: D.S. Suresh, Honorary President of KSRTC Employees Union, has urged for fulfilment of demands of KSRTC employees, including hike in salary and clearing salary arrears among others.
He was speaking to media persons, after presiding over a meeting of district office-bearers of KSRTC Employees Union, at Jaladarshini in the city recently.
“The previous BJP Government had given 15 percent salary hike, buckling under the pressure of employees on Jan. 1,2020, followed by the clearance of pending salary of one year. However, the salary arrears spanning 39 months remains unpaid still and the Government should act on this at the earliest,” demanded Suresh.
The KSRTC employees should also get the benefit of equal pay on the lines of Government employees, instead of hiking their salary through agreement effective from Jan. 1, 2024. It assumes significance in the wake of the Government’s announcement to implement the recommendations of Seventh Pay Commission for Government employees, he added.
The Government should give approval to hold election to the KSRTC Employees Unions that would bridge the gap between the employees and officials. In the absence of adequate representation, the officials have been taking arbitrary decisions upon reaching an agreement, that has led to wage disparity, said Suresh.
State President of KSRTC Employees Union Publicity Committee Talashasana Mohan, Working President C.D. Vishwanath, trade union leaders Praveen Kumar, Manjegowda, Siddesh, Nagaraju, Ravikumar, Jagadish Guleda, L.S. Vijay and others were present.
