Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the MCC is making all possible efforts to achieve the set target in respect of property tax (2020-21) collection, MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde said that property owners can pay taxes without any penalty till Oct.31.
In a press release, the MCC Commissioner appealed the property owners to remit tax dues by Oct.31 and thus avoid penalty. Pointing out that a 2 percent penalty will be levied for property tax remittance from Nov.1, Hegde said that in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has allowed payment of property tax (2020-21) without penalty till Oct.31 and the public must make use of this opportunity by voluntarily coming forward to pay their tax.
He reiterated that a 2 percent penalty will be imposed from Nov.1 and the defaulting property owners can avoid being penalised, by remitting tax dues before the deadline.
