Mysuru: Gujarat Handicrafts Utsav and Special Handloom Expo commenced at JSS Urban Haat in Hebbal on Wednesday. ZP CEO B.A. Paramesh inaugurated the Utsav. A total of 40 weavers and artisans are participating.
Government of Gujarat, Ahmedabad, selects weavers from different regions and this time, weavers and craftsmen from Kutch are taking part. The deft works on Bandhani (Tie and Dye), Kutchhi Embroidery, bamboo crafts, Jute items, Navarathri special Chania Choli, Clay articles, Patchwork, Bead work and eco-friendly jewellery are on display.
JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Technical Education Division Joint Director H.R. Mahadevaswamy, Department of Handloom and Textile Deputy Director Lakshmana Talwar, Indext-C Manager Dr. Snehal Makhwana and JSS Urban Haat Coordinator Rakesh Rai were present.
The expo will open between 10 am and 9 pm every day till Jan. 12.
