Sir,
Now almost all commercial establishments welcome their customers with a hand sanitiser — either pedal-operated or hand-pressed. In some establishments it is seen that the pedal-operated sanitiser will have the sanitiser container fixed to the frame of the machine, which is correct and safe. But in some places the sanitiser container is not fixed to the frame of the machine and this is really dangerous because this can cause freak casualties.
When the sanitiser container is not fixed to the frame, as we press the pedal, there is a possibility that the nozzle of the container moves to a different direction and will dispense the chemical in a wrong direction. If children are standing close to the pedal-operated dispenser, the chemical can even hit their eyes.
Though children are not supposed to accompany the elders to the shops during this COVID times, there could be some compelling reasons for the children to accompany the elders and hence there is a need to take extra precaution.
It is suggested that the commercial establishments ensure that the nozzle of the dispenser do not move towards any wrong direction and cause freak accidents.
