Periyapatna: The students of Green Kids Dance School, Periyapatna, Founded by Ambari Paramesh, have bagged six Gold, four Silver and a Bronze medal at the National-level Dance Competition jointly organised by Karnataka State Sports Association and Sports Dance Federation of India at Ravindra Kalabhavan, Baina Vasco in Goa recently.
Following the School’s excellent performance, a grand procession was taken out through the main thoroughfares of the town to celebrate the performance of the students.
The School’s dance team comprising P.R. Smitha, K.S. Rishmith, Punya, P.K. Chaya, P.R. Sangeetha, V. Archita, K.N. Lakshitha, P.R. Gururaj, Amulya, Mannappa, Rashmitha, P.K. Dikshitha and Varshini Arya bagged the Gold medals while another team comprising Krutika, P.R. Rohit, P.K. Bhumika, Omkar and Ishitha bagged Silver medals, and Priyanka bagged the Bronze medal, thus bringing laurels to the State and the School.
More than 300 dance teams from different States had taken part in the event, in which Maharashtra won the top spot and Karnataka came second.
TMC Members Tanuja Ramesh, Tobacco Board retired officer Sannaiah, Women and Child Development Officer Shwetha, Lecturer H.S. Raju, Puttamadaiah, Warden H. Rajaiah, Journalists H.D. Ramesh, K.S. Prakash, H.K. Mahesh, Sharath Kumar, Kantharaju, Lokesh and others were present.
