Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep has said that permission is mandatory for installation of flex boards at public places in Urban as well as Rural areas.
Presiding over a meeting of various Committees of the Social Welfare Department at his Office here recently, Randeep said that installation of flex boards without permission may lead to Law and Order problems and also at times, lead to communal tensions. Pointing out that those wishing to install flex boards in cities and towns should get permission from respective City Corporations, TMCs or CMCs and in Rural areas from the respective Gram Panchayats, the DC warned of legal action against those installing boards sans permission.
SP Ravi D. Channannavar said that installation of flex boards during Jayantis, birthdays, festivals etc., has led to tension, especially in rural areas.
The SP asked the owners of Hotels and Hair Cutting Saloons in rural areas to install CC TV Cameras as a security measure.
The Committee members apprised the DC of the problems faced by the people and the atrocities going on in the district.
They also complained of lack of basic amenities in residential complexes built for pourakarmikas under JNNURM scheme and indiscrete dumping of wastes and garbage in front of houses.
Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Prabha, Ambedkar Development Corporation Director Bharathi and others were present.
