Mysuru: In a reported incident, the Nazarbad Police have taken a 40-year-old man into custody for questioning, after he was caught posing as an Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) at the Zoo in city.
The man, who visited the Mysuru Zoo this morning, claimed himself as an ACF and asked the staff whether he could get one year training at the Zoo in order to get himself familiar with Zoo management.
The unsuspecting Zoo staff took him into a room and provided him breakfast. Later, the man resumed his talk with the Zoo staff, when the Zoo Executive Director (ED) Ajit M. Kulkarni, who arrived at the Zoo, began to speak to the man.
Suspecting the man’s claims and description of the dress for Forest Officers, Kulkarni telephoned Nazarbad Police, who arrived at the spot. Soon as the Police arrived at the Zoo, the man got nervous and the Police took him to the Police Station for questioning, when he is said to have told the Police that he hails from Ballari and tried this trick in order to get identified in a big way among his circle of friends there, it is learnt. The Police were still questioning the man when we went to the Press.
