Mysuru: “Our personality is defined by the service rendered to the society,” opined former MLA Vasu.
He was speaking after inaugurating a felicitation function organised by Kattemane Vokkaliga Rama Mandira at its premises on K.R. Hospital Road here on Tuesday.
Vasu recalled that several development works had been done during his tenure but asserted that he does not want to take credit for them as his seniors had rendered much more service to society. He contended that all representatives of people were just symbolic and contribution of any such individual is just a relative factor.
He regretted that caste has become a prime deciding factor in politics and unfortunately even votes cast is dependent on that factor. He contended that social work should be beyond the framework of any caste.
Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Corporators R. Nagaraj, SBM Manju, Satish and Ramesh were felicitated on the occasion.
Rama Mandira Vice-President S. Somanna, former Corporators B.K. Prakash, M. Shivanna and others were present.
